History of Udaipur

Udaipur a royal city popularly known by the lake city situated southwest on Banas River was established by Maharana Udai Singh II in 1559. Udaipur is a historic capital of Mewar kingdom due to its prior Rajputana legacy. Maharana Udai Singh II was a descendant of the Sisodias. Sisodias are the oldest and the powerful warrior in Rajasthan. It has believed that Maharana Udai Singh II met one sagacious person while hunting in the Aravalli Hills and that wise person advised Maharana Udai Singh II to build a kingdom in the lush valley assuring him that it would be well protected and as a result Maharana Udai Singh established a splendid kingdom on the spot.

History Of Chittorgarh

In 1568 Chittorgarh which was the prior capital of Mewar was attacked by Mughal ruler Akbar and to protect Mewar Kingdom Maharana Udai Singh II shifted his kingdom to the fertile valley in Arvalli Hills which was less vulnerable than Chittorgarh. Subsequent Udaipur built-up as a powerful kingdom and since the time pass Mughal ruler started to destabilized, Sisodias reasserted their Freedom and brought back most of Mewar Kingdom apart from Chittorgarh fort. In 1572 Maharana Udai Singh II died. After that Udaipur was succeed by legendary icon Maharana Pratap who fought bravely against Mughals in 1576 at the Haldighati. This bravery clash of Rana Pratap is still remembered throughout in the History of Udaipur.

Mewar rebelled constantly with foreign intruder and it has historic battles till the British intervention. After independence Udaipur merged in the Union of India. Udaipur History is exceptionally defied for liberty of land, thought and land. Rajput community in Udaipur is one of the powerful and oldest reigns across the world. History of Udaipur entwined with royalties of Rajput and Mughals.

History Of Famous Jaisamand Lake

Udaipur is well known for the lakes and it is very popular for Jaisamand Lake History. Jaisamand Lake is situated 48 km from Udaipur. It is the second largest artificial lake in Asia built by Maharana Jai Singh in 1685. Jaisamand Lake is 102 feet deep, 1202 feet in length, 116 feet in height and width of 70 feet. This lake is one of the good places near Udaipur. During monsoon this lake looks terrific due to sprawling environs. Jaisamand Lake is easily accessible from Alwar. It is a great picnic spot and ideal for water activities. There is a stunning palace on the north side of this lake and on the south side there is pavilion of 12 pillars. From the summer palace you can view large spectacular Jaisamand Lake. It comprises of seven islands and this beautiful island make Jaisamand Lake History rich and valiant.
